Re: pros and cons between 2.0 and 2.2 HDI's
from what i have seen there is no visible difference between the two. When you open the bonnet the 2.2 has a silver engine cover where the 2.0 has a black one

Re: pros and cons between 2.0 and 2.2 HDI's
My lasy 2.0 hdi was a great engine and i am sure even with the miles on it would of continued for many years.
What mpg do people average from a 2.2 on long runs?

pros and cons between 2.0 and 2.2 HDI's
Peeps Having lost my last 2.0 hdi to the scrap heap in the sky, thanks to some yobs i am looking at having yet another 406. I have seen a couple of 2.2s in my price range and wondered what the pros and cons between the 2 are. My last 2.0 hdi engine was great no smoke not even with the weather we had...

Re: Damp in ECU and crazy stuff!
Just had the same issues with mine Mine was caused by the drivers sill drain hole been blocked. If your carpet is wet then you will need to get it up and check undermeath. You will find a number of connector blocks if they start to corrode then it will cause all sorts of issues. The foam under the c...

Re: Dreaded Electrics! Radio comes on, on its own
Well th offending and rather heavily soaked carpet has been removed. The wires were sat in a large puddle of water. I have mopped out the inside and tried to dry off the wires as best as i can. The carpet will need to be left to dry for several days me thinks it was like picking a sponge up out of t...

Re: Dreaded Electrics! Radio comes on, on its own
i have managed to drain of the sill and having removed some of the interior door trim i can see where the water has been getting in. I have managed to get a view into the base of the car and its probably worse than i feared. The is a massive pool of water on the base of the car and the foam based ca...

Re: Dreaded Electrics! Radio comes on, on its own
ok i think i have found the drain holes i assume i am going to have to strip the door off to have a look inside. Where is the most likely place for water to be getting in? I have checked inside the door and its bone dry.!!. So the sloshing noise i heard was not coming from the door. Where could this...

Re: Dreaded Electrics! Radio comes on, on its own
It does go into power saver mode yes. Since Thursday all the electrics have gone hay wirer. Sometimes it will start if the immob light isnt on, but if it is then its a no go. The drivers carpet is wet. It would seem to be coming in from the seal on the sill. But when moving it there is a sloshing so...

Dreaded Electrics! Radio comes on, on its own
Since the constant rain over the last few days my 02 406 has suddenly come to life. Sadly this means having left the car locked and secure overnight, i came to it this morning and was greated by the radio been on. Now i know it had turned off with the ignition so its not me leaving it on. Now this h...

So people in my search for a hdi 406 estate i seem to find more 90s than 110s i would prefer the 110 for the bit of extra power... but can people tell me is there much noticable difference between them in every day to day driving and when it comes to towing, either a trailer tent or light weight car...
