I see. I was starting to think that my 406 doesn't like me. I will get the bolt from peugeot. and get the dremel out again. By the way, does anyone know the part number of the bolt, washer and nuts?
Why does the french make things difficult?

Anyone know a good mechanic in cardiff area?
The 406 has beaten me. Tried in vain to replace the rear drop links, could not bloody get the outer nut loose. Tried tackling the inner joint, and that's just out of reach (haven't got a pit or ramp) what's more annoying, peugeot seems to know which spanner i don't have!! I'm dejected, does anyone k...

Clunkidy Clunk Suspension
Hello all, hoping to get some pointers from you knowledgeable bunch, As you might have gathered, a fairly green newbie here. Bought a tidy 406 HDI90 estate on W plate, done 126K, mechanically sound. After a quick once over, I noted that the front N/S CV gaiter need replacing. There are also the usua...

Re: Noise from engine bay at 80C (HDI 90)

I forgot to mention that I did top up the coolant a little, although it wasn't l...

Noise from engine bay at 80C (HDI 90)
Hello, New to this forum, some advice please. Got a clean 2000 406 HDI with 126500miles on the clock, drives well and economical (compared to my previous 3L petrol car) Noticed a knocking noise from the engine bay, loudest in the cabin with aircon off and windows up. sounds like some sort of pump. N...
