Re: Having a few flat battery problems!

Malc is spot on with the figures. It may seem obvious but if the cigarette lighter is jamming when left in this can result in a fairly rapid battery drain as when leaving telephones on charge etc. Note the fuse for the lighter can be enabled to stay on when ignition is off. ( to disable find the fus...

Re: Broken key fob

This might help you - I just repaired mine with a repair kit I found on Ebay. It consists of two micro switches, the large and small rubbers and a battery. Just open the fob carefully then lift out the small circuit board. You can see the two micro switches through a magnifying glass, prise them off...

Re: REMAPPING??

CAN SOEMONE EXPLAIN WHAT REMAPPING IS AND IF DONE DOES THE LIFE SPAN OF YOUR ENGINE SUFFER / MPG ETC Before you consider remapping ask yourself what it is you want to achieve and why. If you want your car to get from A to B quicker then you may be wasting your time and money - your speed is determi...

Re: How does the Stepper Motor work please.

Hi Sorry for not responding earlier - I've been very busy. If you would like to send a PM to me that's oK by me - I would be very interested in the outcome. Intermitant faults are a nightmare and not helped by well meaning people offering tips of "what it could be". Possessing an oscilloscope is alm...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hello Teamster Kind comment - I'm not particulary sensitive but I did not anticipate such aggression from a simple request for an opinion or even material known facts. Also I was more concerned that others took it sooo seriously and also I probably need to be more careful how I phrase things  ...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hi Top Donkey I have seen these reports and the development will go on but you have to understand that in Germany (NOt UK yet) they have made strides to going along the lines of 5% Biofuel and the manufacturers have been faced with many problems to accommodate this, one of which is to change the mat...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hi Steve Earwig I was just overstating it to make a point about the vapour trail , the CAT will probably absorb most of the sh...t that's why it's there and also explains why some get through the test ok. Interesting though what you said about the quality over there. Did you ever do a cloud test on ...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hello Top Donkey I'm very, very sorry if I upset you so much I must appologise since I never implied you were a "Liar" I said you were absolutely right in what you said so I don't know where you have got that from - read again. You quite obviously know what you are doing and saying. Of course you wi...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hi Both absolutely right just another way of putting it, I agree wholeheartedly on both counts so why would you put 2 stroke oil in a fourstroke diesel? It would not make the engine feel or sound quieter it is debateable whether the benefits of the diluted oil would extend the life of the pumps, but...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Oops no offence intended I was just trying to put a prespective on the subject and I did not want to imply anyone in particular was incapable of making a choice or even experimenting a bit. In reality though there are so many things that can make a vehicle seem smoother from day to day - when I wash...

Re: How does the Stepper Motor work please.

Hi Sadly I'm in West yorkshire but my advise to you is first try and get hold of a second hand oscilloscope it will help you test all sensors easily and there are many samples of waveforms on the net - look at Pico ( I don't get commission) they are very good on this subject. I agree, peugeots are a...

Re: Two stroke oil in diesel

Hi "Im all for additives as the fuel across just our domestic suppliers varies so much let alone across europe, i just wish somebody could give a definitive answer on which was best on bot cost and value, ie quality of fuel." This comment intrigues me, with respect but how to you arrive at this hypo...

Re: d9 low oil pressure

In caveman days the idiots used to plug a pressure gauge in - can't image why when you could just take the switch out and watch it squirt all over
