Resolderd mine and no joy but found after dismantling the unit the pins that enter the speedo rev counter and fuel gauge become sloppy and fail to make good contact.Using two pairs of snipe noesed pliers very carefully put a slight bend in the pins this will correct the poor contact. I had this problem on 2 of my 1997 td.on mine the the rev counter and fuel gauge would wave about also but a smack on the top of the dash sometimes calmed it down. Same thing happened on mine.
Did as above and cut anti tamper cover off,dumped immobiliser in bin,switched live to stop solenoid and away you go.
Sounds easy but the cover was a cow to get off.

Hi chico just dragged a old pump out for the fast idle return spring and guess what,yep its broke.

Ye as jasper5 says fast idle return spring.mine was broken for years without knowing but no problem starting.
Ive got spare pump bits will check over weekend if theres a spring you can have it.

Thanks japster thats the way we have gone about it,them shear bolts are fun.
Will get the grinder treatment if theres ever a next time.

Yep i know how to disarm thats the point it will not disarm.

Hi guys just signed up,cracking site Anyway as the post heading suggests im having bother with the immobiliser its a 97 406 td. Went to it sunday and it failed to start,half hour later it started but then later failed again and wont start since. The red and green light stay on the key pad. Im wonder...
