We have a 53 reg 406 HDI, whether I lock the car or not on leaving it, after just over a minute the headlamps come on and then the alarm sounds (or at least tries to as there's a regular thumping noise from where the sounder is so I assume it's just not well) the alarm will reset each time the door...

Many thanks for all your help but what is in some ways is the very worst has happened and the problem has gone away. Let's just hope it doesn't come back to bite us on the bum!

Yep I realise about the demist thing and I run the air con about once a month ( last car was a BMW, you do all you can to avoid their type of bills ) This happens after just running the fan to the footwell on medium speed temp set at 22C, nothing else, and leaving the car overnight.

Dead handy in winter this, if I leave the car for more than a few hours on restarting the climate control has set itself to auto with AC on but at the last set temperature, no big deal resetting to what I want but curious to know what's going on and if there is any way stopping it.

Middle two, you can actually the compression leaking thru.

On my 406 HDI I have horrid black gunge around two of the injectors, so guess the seals need replacing, my nearest dealer is as usual p..s poor and some distance away, does anyone know a mail order supplier out there?

Hi Just bought a 406 110S on a 53 plate, can anyone tell me what the 'S' means, apart from white dials and lower profile tyres? Cheers

Just got a '53 reg 406 110s, looking under the drivers seat there's no less than six electrical connectors, any ideas what these are all for? Also I did want a 406 with cruise, how difficult is this to retrofit?
