I wish i still had my 406
Some may remember I sold my 406 1.9td to my little brother and bough a Volvo V70 2.4 T5. I sometimes wish that kept the 406 and hadn't of bothered with the V70. Re: New car bought..
Cracking! Always liked the big volvos. Said to the other half that if winters keep getting worse and if we move out to the sticks in the next few years we may look into getting something like a 4x4 Volvo or Subaru saloon or estate. Yep big Volvos are great, But avoid petrol ones they drink petrol. ...

New pic's of my motor are here http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy254/adamr8965/
So far it's needed a ball joint and top strut mount, and four tyres.
Plus endless trips to the petrol station.
I love driving this and my 406 but this puts a much bigger smile on my face.

Yesi would think so £170 for a pair of front tyres and it's £100 a side for the ball joints as they need to be pressed into positionWelly wrote:Oh right, erm, you might need to get used to thatadamr8965 wrote:.....front tyres......

Re: Car hunting
2004 I believe was the last date of UK manufacture, I think they went up to a 54 plate, but you may luck out and find an 05 or 55 plate one (it's not unknown for cars to sit around unregistered for a while after arriving in the UK). Thanks for the info, think it would be hard going to find a 2.2 hd...

Re: Car hunting
Changed my mind now, its either going to be a 406 hdi 2.2 with full leather and cruise, sat nav. Or a Volvo v70 t5 just because of the power and the size which is really good.
What year and plate did they stop making the 406?

Most men with a touch of the flu would be dying on the sofa, asking the wife to run around after them.
