Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

The JBL amp as far as I recall has two connectors, a black connector for powering and signals from the headunit, and a white connector for speakers out. I don't think you will find these connectors anywhere in your car, if you don't have the JBL system. However, I would strongly recommend against in...

Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

Hi Andy, the yellow connector is for the audio transformer. I'm sure you have both connectors, they might be hidden deeper or wrapped with tape, but they should be there. The antenna had a magnetic base, so I just stuck it to the metal shelf under the rear window. It took me like half a year to comp...

Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

Very well then, to add the Siemens navigation to your car, you'll need most of the parts that are on the following picture: http://fotka.406-klub.pl/pics/695857navi.gif 1. A multifunction display type C (as opposed to the most common type B) 2. A remote, without which the display is mostly useless -...

Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. :) The only prerequisite is that it's a D9 car. Is it expensive? Depends on how much you get all the parts for. Most likely that's the only expense, unless something needs to be coded in the multifunction display (happens). It's definitely not difficult, assuming yo...

Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

There's no problem with swapping the nav unit. It isn't coded or anything.
I retrofitted the whole sat nav thing with parts off ebay and it's working just fine.

Re: what adaptor do i need to make my display work and steering

Actually, for Sony radios you can get an interface that will work with both the stalk and the display. Connects2 carries them, parts no. CTDPGS002 for semi-multiplex cars, and CTDPGS003 for later full-mux. I haven't tested them personally, but there's no reason they shouldn't work. You need to keep ...

Re: Outside temperature weirdness

Features are easy. It's getting a working base setup (with VAN decoding) that's going to be the killer. I'm still half considering taking the easy way out and getting a more powerful microcontroller I can run a netbsd/linux kernel on. Good luck in your quest! I wish someone would finally decode the...

I've got two fans, a separate fuse for each. They're in the fusebox in the engine compartment. It's one of the large fuses, in my case they're yellow and AFAIK 40A each.

I doubt that the shorter belt would fit the A/C engine. AFAIR there is a substantial difference in length.
What I meant is that the longer belt is for A/C engines (coupe, saloon, estate),
and the shorter belt is for engines without air conditioning (saloon and estate only).

Yes, they all have air conditioning. So there is only one type of belt, Peugeot part no. 5750S9.
The saloon and estate models could have no aircon with that engine, and these had a shorter belt, part no. 5750Q3.

:arrowu: That is fantastic, where did you get that? I got it off the Polish Peugot Club forum. Someone posted it there. Now, considering that this is in fact a Russian address, I give no guarantees as to what they do with our VINs afterwards. :cheesy: This should be made a sticky on here. Put it up...

Type in your VIN here: http://www.detali.ru/cat/pe/pe.dll
and you'll find out if you had heated seats installed at the factory or not, as well as info about all other options.
The heated seats are under Interior fittings / Heated cover for some reason.

In my case it's 99% accurate.

electronic damping control questions

Hi, I just got this 406 (2000 sedan, V6) and it's equipped with the electronic damping control. Press a button and it stiffens, that's fine. However, the stiffness varies also by itself, when the button is not pressed, and I can't seem to figure out when. So does anyone know under what conditions th...
