hmmm yeah wondered myself how it works. My hdi 90 had the same valve fitted but ob in a different place! just fitted the one that came with the new pipework to the same solenoid. If you look at the diags posted above you can see both systems had it. I know the 110 has a 3rd solenoid, not having look...

yes i was lucky an replied to a few "406 HDI breaking" ads on ebay till one turned up that was suitable and even then got him to take photos of all the pipes he had taken off!
the hose clips are handy to have along with the bracket that holds the top hose onto the engine mount.

yes i agree that would make sense. seems a little on the basic side!! yeah will keep you posted, just gotta save some pennies. Maybe he was just chattin poop, but seemed to know what he was on about and its a rolling road centre so will get a print out.

oh and i would have said that more colder denser air required less fuelling hence we thought possible smoking which it isnt yet?

could be 1 of 1000 things im afraid! start by taking off the throttle housing and cleaning it up and the idle control valve

I looked into it, some places can do it on the bench but i found a place (Ajec Racing) where i used to work who looked it up on his software and quoted back to me the ecu number etc and said yes no problem? we shall...

try hitting the next size torx bit into place with a hammer and useing mole grips at the same time on the head of the bolt, turning both simultaniously. Usually works for me
