Where are you based? That way you can get someone to loan you a diag kit.

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

I found an old copy of PP2000 and installed it but I still get the same error and it does the same sequence.

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

I've given it another go and it's still giving me the same problem. I am informed that I must have read the faults and I press F3 to confirm. At this point, I tried exiting from the mileage entry busines & got the Communications error. glennethwest wrote: I am told that "Before erasing the fault(s),...

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

Further update...

I tried the same hardware and the Lexia software on my Dad's Citroen (yes, I used the correct software) and it came up with the same "Service" menu and also gave the Comms error.

Maybe it is the hardware??

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

I don't know what it is then. I've used two different laptops with fresh installs and updates and it always does the same thing. I wonder if it is a hardware problem??? I'll email the bloke on ebay that I got it off and see what he says. The strange thing is that it clears faults on every other sect...

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

Cheers.

I also clicked F7 when I was asked for mileage so that I could avoid it but that came up with Comm error too.

Re: Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

I'm not winning I'm afraid. This is a transcript, for want of a better word. Select 406 from first screen. Select 406R. Select Peugeot Planet 2000. Enter buidl code - 9564. PP2000 starts with cogs and does vehicle ID and config. Select ECU configuration and services. Select test by ECU and then Engi...

Lexia gives Comms Error when clearing ECU faults

Does anyone know how/why this happens? I have read my ECU codes but when I click through to clear the faults and enter a milage in the 'service zone' I am told that there is a Communication Error and I'm sent back to the reading faults page. I don't have problems with clearing any of the other secti...

Re: How do I fix the following faults?

So I've gone back to the original installation of the software and still the same problem. I go through ECU etc. and select my engine. I read the faults and the two stated faults are displayed. I then click on F6 to look at the details of each fault and then F1 back to the menu. I then click on the ...

Re: How do I fix the following faults?

I've run both the full scan and the engine scan. I read the codes and then click on the option to clear them. It says that I have to enter the car's milage which is then stored. When I do this it comes up with Comms error. I did use the internet update thing on the original software to update to lat...

Re: How do I fix the following faults?

I've had another look at things using the Lexia but I don't seem to be able to clear the faults. I can get as far as entering milage but then I recieve:

Erasing Faults - Communications Error.

Any more tips??

How do I fix the following faults?

First of all, thanks to everyone for their help before. I have splashed out (don't tell the wife) on a Lexia kit and finally, after much faffing with my laptop, got it working and read my cars faults. The faults are: 1) Intermittent fault. Brake contact signal. Coherence between the 2 brake switches...

Re: Diagnostics still on despite changing brake switch

Ok Gents, thanks for your help. The only other thing that is 'wrong' with my motor is that every now and again it idles at around 1100rpm and the cruise control doesn't work. I've had all the switches out from underneath, cleaned them and re-attached. I might invest in a diagnostics kit once I've sa...

Re: Diagnostics still on despite changing brake switch

Thanks to both of you on this one. I have a 2.0 (110) HDI Executive. I bought the car second hand with the fault on it already. I took the car to 'canyondust' in Huddersfield who did the diagnostics and told me that there was no given fault. His diagnosis was that it was a faulty brake switch which ...

Diagnostics still on despite changing brake switch

Hi, I'm after a bit of help if possible. I recently bought a 2002 406 HDI and took it to a 'specialist' in Huddersfield who told me that the reason I keep getting "Anti Pollution Defective" message was because my brake switch was faulty. I changed the brake switch a couple of weeks ago and I still g...
