Re: Does turning the boost up to 12psi on an sri do any dama

It probably won't do any damage in the short term but I'd be very very careful and possibly leave it alone if you aren't sure what your getting into. I have a bleed valve on mine and currently have it set to boost to 14psi and it then drops back down to 12psi higher up in the rev range, I'm pretty c...

Re: Conversion from petrol to diesel.

Do you reckon it's that straight forward then? Be great if it was.

Conversion from petrol to diesel.

Any body know if it would be possible to change the engine in my 406 from the 2.0 turbo to a 1.9TD? Now before anybody ask's why I'm not doing this for economy reasons's, I want the engine for a 205   and personally I think its a shame to scrap a perfectly good 406, especially as its ...

Re: 8 valve turbo stutter on boost

Have a check of the ignition lead for cylinder no.3 (I think), its the lowest furthest back one on the coilpack. On my car this lead is so close to the brake servo that when the engine moves around it actually pulls the lead off!

Definitely worth a check.

Re: Turbo (XU10j2TE) problems

I got around to reseting the ECU today after changing the plugs leads and filling it up with 99RON and its running better and boosting a little more and holding it better. ECU must have been cutting the boost back a little before.

Turbo (XU10j2TE) problems

I have some questions/problems that maybe somebody here can help with. Standard boost pressure on this engine I believe is 0.5bar (7.5psi approx). The engine reaches this boost level at around 3000rpm and I presume it should be able to hold this all the way to the red line. At 4000rpm its already dr...

Hose Connector

The top (inlet) hose on my radiator is leaking badly and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it but the connector is just shagged and corroded away and needs to be replaced, a new hose is not an option as I haven't got time to wait for one and I'm definitely not paying the crazy money that P...

Re: 2.0 Turbo questions (petrol)

Temp really stays that low? I'd have assumed 85 90 is what it should be, nearly every other car I've had was about 90 and an open thermostat used to cost me a fortune in petrol in my fiat. If the cambelts been done i'd proably be safe enough to just give it a visual and see rather than change it, it...

2.0 Turbo questions (petrol)

I've tried a quick search but haven't got the definative answers so said I better ask. What should the running temp of this engine be? I reckon my thermostat is stuck open as my engine temp usually hovers around 70-75 unless in traffic. Also, what's the interval for the timing belt on these? I'm on ...

Hey there!

Though I better introduce myself before I start posting all over the place. I'm from Ireland but just got myself a 406, I'm not exactly new to the "experience" of Peugeot ownership as I had a 106 Rallye a few years ago (selling was the worst thing I ever did but thats another story  ) Picked u...
