Hiya Fellas, Cylinder and shoes replaced but a problem(lots of swearing and scuffed knuckles and blood blisters) :oops: Worth mentioning I think for anybody out there doing a cylinder replacement two types available it says ABS and non ABS the only difference is the "bore" of the brake pipe attachme...

jasper5 fantastic walkthrough many thanks.. the pipe going to the cylinder via the back plate is a "metal" pipe and not a flexible one by the way?

Thanks for the reply lozz, yeah my local guy can get the cylinder £17 or £19 depending if its got a central or offset bleed nipple? Going to give it a go me thinks, brakepipe connection at rear looks nice and clean so WD40'd it up for tonight and will have a bash tomorrow. Any advice on inexpensive ...

Thanks for the quick reply Lozz, I'm pretty sure the car connector wires are 1.green/yellow-earth, 2.pink-live and 3.grey-neutral. Just confused re the car having the 3 wires and the replacement having only two spade connections plus the red wire and the black wire coming from the attached bulb! Che...

Don't know if I am allowed to guys but will ask anyway and risk the wrath of you moderators :wink: My missus has a 2000 (W) 206, trying to change the cigarette lighter unit (complete), got the old one out and got universal replacement from ebay- It has two male spade connectors on base and two wires...

Just a quick update guys, good shout Jasper material had indeed come off the shoe and jammed it up!! Getting the drum off had to be the equivalent of a 3 hour gym workout though :wink:

Thanks for the pic dummysock, found it this morning. The adjuster is badly badly rusted up impossible to get spanner or pliers on it!
WD40'd up and just waiting to have another go in a bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for the response, having had a look through the forum could do with a little guidance :oops:. 1. Loosen the cable at side of Handbrake? ( Can't seem to access it through centre console)?? 2. Cannot find cable link (adjuster) underneath the car?? Apologies if I seem a bit thick here guys!...
