Thanks, when the ignition is on I can hear a faint whirring as though the blower is on minimum maybe this is something else, with the engine running the fan will not pick up if I manually overide the auto and press the fan button to max nothing happens either, nor with the demist button.

I will try the wires on the back of the ignition, the heater does not speed up with the engine running either by using the fan speed button or setting to auto.
