Thanks for all your replies guys, the noise coming from my car was my crankshaft pulley. Changed it last night and she is running sweet as a nut! :cheesy: Glad you got it sorted, sorry to hijack your thread, but the title seemed appropriate with potentially similar fault. Appears to be sticky valve...

Thanks for reply, I am in Newark, Notts. A friend of a friend is looking at it today and his initial thought was injector, but Obviously I have no real idea as these modern diesels are a little beyond me. UPDATE...... Well my mate diagnosed a sticking valve or hydraulic lifter. He had added a treat...

I find my 2.0 HDi engine quite tappy. I have my engine management light on just recently and a message at start up saying 'engine antipollution device faliure' or words to that fact. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to fault...egr, injuector? Car starts and drives ok and getting 43 mpg ...

It did seem like a very good buy and with Mobil 1 for £15 too......not surprised the shelf was empty after i'd taken the last one

OIL FOR 2.0 HDi 110?
Not picked my new 406 up yet but gonna get some basic service parts ready to do the job. I was in Asda today and they had some Mobil S 10W40 Semi Synthetic oil, reduced from £22 down to £10, so I grabbed it......will this be OK for my 53' 2.0 HDi 110?

New 406 owner 110 HDi
Put deposit down on 406 S 2.0HDi. This will be the 2nd 406 i've owned, previous one being a 406 1.9TD LX. Hope to pick up a week or so. Paid 2k for 53 plate with 79k on clock with partial historty, is this a good price? Test drive went ok, spotted a knocing on N/S rear and upon checking found the re...
