Thanks for your reply,
do you know if tie rod ends & drop links are MOT items - are they checked as part of MOT?
Cheers.

Re: Acceleration Issues / EGR?
Hi Gingermagic,
many thanks for your reply, would slack in the throttle cable explain the situation with the accelerator pedal? With it being close to the floor - 7cm off from the floor of the car, and there is a bit of play in the pedal as well about 2cm.
Cheers.

Clonking Noise from Steering
I left my off the road for a month. (406 S Hdi 90). I left it on a driveway with a bit of a slope. I chocked only the front wheels. Each with a large brick and left the handbrake off. Now that I have started using the car again there is a “clonking” noise when I turn the car, or do a three-point tur...

Acceleration Issues / EGR?
2003 406 S Hdi 90 hp As per my previous post in December – the car was very sluggish and for a period I could not accelerate over 20 / 30 mph. I left the car off the road & did not it for a month. When I went to use it again a couple of weeks ago it would not start, (not a battery issue). Called out...

How Long Can Diesel Be Stored For?
Hello, I bought about 25 litres of diesel around last September & have kept it in a plastic container in my shed ever since. I was out of the country for a couple of months and was not using my car much so it got forgotten. I've got a 406 Hdi 90 hp. So I've had it for around 8 months now & there's n...

Re: Starting Issue. Glow Plugs?
Hello, Thanks very much for the replies. If the problem is the Ignition Switch. Please excuse my ignorance, but is the Ignition Switch a component within the Ignition Cylinder / Barrel? Starting Issue. Glow Plugs?
Hello, have noticed a starting issue recently. The car is a 406 Hdi 90 hp from 2003 so I would usually just go through the pre warming process for the glow plugs just once, so just turn the key wait for a few secs ànd then turn key fully to start but sometimes now I have to do this two or three time...

Has Anyone Used XL (Extra Load) Tyres on a 406?
Hello, I will be in the market for new tyres in the near future. Have been looking online, some of the least expensive options for new tyres include XL/ reinforced tyres. I don't need reinforced tyres as I never carry anything heavy. I was just considering them as a.budget option. Has anyone any exp...
