if its putting your eml on i would say you might have to clear the codes after the new one has been fitted but i have fitted new sensors before when the eml was on and i havnt had to clear the codes as there just stored in the ecu, so if when you fit it the light goes out all should be fine.

the backing plates dont come into the mot,well they do if they are fitted and are hanging off but if you remove them and the handbrake is attached ok and solid it will pass an mot

im likeing all the comments and idears, i would like to fit a twin turbo supra lump into a 406 but it would take some doing as ive already had the tape mesure out and there would be alot of cutting and welding to do to get it to fit,although i have fitted the supra lump into a carlton before and it ...

i wonder if anyone has tried to 4 wheel drive a 406 with a cosworth set up or a v6/v8 set up, it would be a big job but i think it would have great results,i did an old hatch back chevet years ago with a petrol ford transit engine as they are low compression so it was easy to fit the turbo running l...

could be the fuel pump breaking down,giving that you put your foot down then there was nothing or the throtle position sensor breaking down,i would clear the codes and see if it puts a code back on then you may get a better idear of whats going on with it mate.

i would also check to see if the stat is opening as if its not this would build up pressure and it could release through the bleed valve if the blue cap was a bad fit.

i agree, i would check for play in the rear links as this is a common fault,sometimes you will get rear trye ware if there is alot of play.

ive used them before, i put front and rear discs and pads on my 406 turbo, i didnt have any bother with them at all and i used to do well over 50,000 miles a year.
