First dibs on my w-reg 406 estate 110
Hi All, I am selling my 406 estate 110 as I now have a new car. I am currently away on a trip but will post the car on ebay on my return. I thought I would give people on the forum first dibs. What follows is the description I have put together for ebay so apologies for the bits you will be familiar...

Re: Guess that knocking noise...
And so it seems that it was the CV joint...another trip to heathrow today and not a knock, wobble or near death experience! I will source some proper CV joint grease for when my patch up expires and also research getting it changed but given grasmere's experience, perhaps i can keep this one going f...

Re: Guess that knocking noise...
took car up to Heathrow today, due there for next two days then oxford for Thursday and Friday so lots of mileage and very chuffed car is playing up. The journey was very interesting with horrendous knocking and wobbles. So despite the sleet and cold I thought I had ought to have a proper look at th...

Re: Guess that knocking noise...
Thanks Guys, I have done a car park check in reverse as well as forward. I Had one clunk but apart from that it was fine. If I find a tight bend and apply plenty of power whilst in the turn, the knocking can usually be provoked. Sometimes though the knocking can occur in a straight line - indeed the...

Guess that knocking noise...
Hi All, My car has developed a knocking noise. It started after a spell in queuing traffic. Got worse on journey home and started to feel like a loose wheel with a wobble being felt through the steering. Eventually pulled over and had a look. Nothing out of line, I drove on and there were no symtoms...

Re: 72.5mpg!
I am going to watch the wear characteristics but I dont generally give her the beans around bends, etc. I get her up to 50-60 mph and roll along. She looks like an absolute shed but is fantastic for the cost to run. MOT next month but she feels OK and I did all the brakes last year. I am angling for...

Re: 72.5mpg!
I was reading a hyper-miling website. These guys are nuts. They run their tyres (or tires in the US!) at 50+ psi - report only a 'few' blow outs in death valley! They not only coast behind artic-lorries, but also turn off the engine whilst there. Looney stuff...they do however get cracking mpg - sko...

72.5mpg!
Hi All, New record for me. Arundel - Oxford - Arundel (240 miles roundtrip) and trip computer showed 72.5 mpg average once home. Tyres over-inflated to 41psi (car very easy to hand roll) and rpm never taken over 1700 rpm. Did a brim test two months ago and that showed about a 1-2% error. Admittedly ...

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
194,500 miles and running well. Coming up for oil service. Got 68.8mpg on 240m round trip last month. computer figure so did a brim check and showed only a 2% error so at the time 57.7 mpg coputer figure translated to 56.3mpg actual but within margin for error. I used to be able to just about get 62...

Re: My latest MPG
Far better than I thought it would be. Admittedly my journey started at 0440hrs so way up was empty but had some traffic on return. Normally on school run I get 57.7.mpg or 62.8mpg on run to work - this however was excellent! I am confident it cannot be 45p/mile to run this car! In fact I had been c...

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
190,000miles - had to rag the arse off the car on return from oxford - handled it pretty well - I would like to think spooling up the turbo for a high speed cruise may have done her some good! hammered the fuel economy though - 64mpg on arrival (60mph cruise) - 52 on return leg (80mph cruise)

Re: Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Diesel Oil 5L
lidl at the moment 10w/40 - £9.99 for 5L - could be absolute cack but with a frequent change it may be better than super-douper stuff doing 12,000m?
