Cooling system Pressure Relief
Hi, Having a problem with the cooling system seems to be loosing water through the pressure relief valve identified on the picture below. What might be causing it? No change to the system, didn't notice it earlier, got the warning light on the dash, topped up (a decent amount), then the light came o...

Re: Fault code P0230
Tony,
I have the exact same problem you described 12 months ago on my Y/2001 HDi 406.
Did you find a resolution?
Any advise would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Rear Suspension Clunk over bumps
Still got the issue guys, going to have to do something about it! Having put miles on the car since I last posted I've noticed some changes *New (ish) springs / roll bar - previous owner must have had them fit. *As I turn left, more obvious at high speed the wheel (driverside rear) seems to tap, pre...

Re: Rear Suspension Clunk over bumps
No luck guys. Took the wheel off and no sign of damage (apart from a rusting disk)!
Same with the exhaust, looked around and gave everything a good shake but couldn't spot anything. I'll have another play tomorrow and attempt to report further information.
Cheers.

Rear Suspension Clunk over bumps
My rear suspension makes a clunking noise over large-ish bumps, mainly at slow speed - I think it's the drivers-side. There don't appear to be any issues on even ground, even a speed much as the motorway. It doesn't feel to be that much of an issue but concerned it'll be an MOT fault and would rathe...

Re: Skimming Break Disks
Can do it for free, it will be a little bit of a hastle considering I'm not going to be able to go anywhere once the disks are removed! Especially if I mess the job up! For replacement, cheap quality disks its £50 (for the pair). Not really doing it as a cost saving exercise, just a bit of fun, but ...

Skimming Break Disks
Hi Guys, I'm looking at skimming my breaks disks partly for a bit of fun, cheaper, and as a bonus more Eco friendly! Is there any chance you could adsise on in the minimum disk width and a approximate rate of wear? Basically working out if its worth bothering with. 406 - 2.0 HDi - 2001 (Y) - Saloon....

Hose unplugged but I don't know where to put it
While making an oil/filter change this morning I spotted a random hose lose. I'm a total novice and was hoping someone could point where its meant to put into. You can see it hanging on the images below. When lose it drops just right of the oil filter. The hose comes out of the object in the top rig...
