Re: suspension bearings

Hi, mine just went yesterday on my front nearside. I just started to move, maybe one foot then this awefull bang and then a grinding noise. Jumped out to see the nearside leaning badly. When I got it jacked up its then I saw the spring had gone. I was lucky that the garage came and got it. Unlucky t...

Re: Rear suspension bush

Morning gents, I have had a look at the top link, the one that alters the tracking and the rubber covers look a bit perished. I know this needs setting up again if changed but reading the advice in the forum if I mark the stud with some sort of paint and replace in the same position it should be fai...

Rear suspension bush

I think I have mentioned it before but I have a clunking on the nearside rear when I go over rough road. I have changed the drop link as this was worn, however the knocking is still there. I have some wear in the bush that I think is the rear suspention arm. It has a biggish bush in it and this is w...

Re: Running without MAF

I think after doing some reading that I might just as well buy another MAF. I can see that will be the easiest way to go. Thanks for your time and advice.

Re: Running without MAF

Thanks for that joethefish, actually a lot of what you said is right. Inside the mafm it has a little rod that looks like a matchstick and two little rods under it. The inside of mine seems to get wet, or at least looks wet when I take it off. I did clean the stick thing with a micro fibre cloth but...

Running without MAF

Hi chaps and chapesses, just wanted to now if an engine can run without the mas air flow meter connected. The one I have on now is going faulty (I think). This is the second one albeit a second hand one. When it went funny last year I got one from ebay and its worked ok till the last few weeks. I th...

Re: Heater

Hi archangel, my heater blower stopped working a while ago. I checked all sorts and asked questions. It eventually tracked down to the ignition barrel. When I start the car and the fan does not run then I just hold the ignition key and put a small amount of upward presure on it and the fan starts ok...

Re: Headlight adjustment

It was the garage who adjusted it on its MOT. He said it was out of alignment at the time. I think thats why he never charged me anything to do it.

Re: Headlight adjustment

I went down to the garage that done my MOT and they adjusted then at the time (november last year) told him I was not happy with the off side one. He put it on the machine and dropped it to where it should be. No charge. Trouble is I dont like complaining but when its something I have not done its d...

Headlight adjustment

Hi all, hope everything is ok. I have been trying to see how to alter my headlights. My off side one is high. The electric adjuster is working on both because I can see them move when I turn the knob in the car. Reading my book it is very vague about the process and when I look in the car I cannot s...

Re: rear tyre no longer legal

Cheers plod. I might just take it to the garage. The mechanic is good and they dont charge the earth. At least that way I have some comeback if the tracking is out. Thanks again.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL :)

Re: rear tyre no longer legal

Hi dummysock, was it easy to change the top link. I had a knocking on the back end on nearside and changed the drop link which got rid of a lot of the knocking. Now I can still hear a knock especially when I go over a bump and turning a corner at same time. Usualy on the mini roundabouts and turning...
