51 Plate HDI 90 Estate - Blown Head gasket

Just thought I would put this on here in case someone is interested before I tow the retched thing to the scrappy. Its a 2.0 HDI (90) Rapier, 51 plate silver estate 10 months MOT and a few months tax, the head gasket is knackered (at least) it would run after it blew and drove with normal feeling po...

Re: Which belt tensioner. 1.9DT

Its the tensioner I need rather than the belt.

And it will have a Peugeot part number that doesn't relate to the GSF/Eurocarpart part numbers.

Which belt tensioner. 1.9DT

I have an R Reg Peugeot 406 1.9DT Estate, it has Aircon and a bosch fuel pump (if that is relevant) the belt tensioner for the alternator is knackered (flapping about) and needs replacing. Places like GSF and Eurocarparts seem to list between 3 and 10 polley belt tensioners for this model with absol...

2.1 DT - Tolerance to alternative fuels.

My current 1.9DT seems to be able to run on anything that has 'oil' in the name (100% Veg oil currently), I like this fact because its cheap and other things it runs on are free. Unfortaunately though it is knackered and I'm thinking of replacing it. I have seen a 2.1 DT cheap near me with T&T, I qu...

Re: 1998 1.9 DT - lack of boost/power.

Well after some investigation and work I'm pretty sure its the cam timing that's wrong. Its boosting well, its well serviced and not smoking much at all. Just completely flat and gutless) Probably time to take it out back... Old Yeller style (scrapyard)

1998 1.9 DT - lack of boost/power.

Hello all. I have a 1998 406 1.9DT Estate as a daily hack. Ever since I've owned it the engine has been flat as a pancake (I have driven a near indetical 406 1.9DT so know that its massively down on power). It feels suspiciously like a lack of boost (although the boost pipes are pressurising a bit w...
