my rev counter does not work as it should it sticks around 2000 r.pm and does not move sometimes, after a while it will operate o.k the speedo also suffers from the same sort of problem it starts at about 20 m.p.h when your doing a lot less is this a common problem ? how do i fix it ?

my rev counter starts at 2000 rpm and some times does not move, other times it is fine, some times after a while it works normally.
