Bottom pulleys for sale

I have 2x bottom pulleys for an HDi. One came off my car and was only changed as I had the cambelt done and thought while it was in bits, it would be rude not to. It is/was a genuine Peugeot item, and had done around 40k. The other was given to me a few weeks earlier so I can't vouch that it is defi...

Passenger door mirror replacement.

My passenger door mirror has stopped heating up when the heated rear window is on, but the drivers side is still working.

Now assuming that the heating side of the mirror has died, are they easy to get out of the case (Like the Renault Scenic) or is it a case of a complete replacement mirror head?

Re: Door cards

Just saw this post, and I have just ordered the relevant one from a breaker in Perterborough.

The car is a 2002 HDi, with the wood tops on the cards.

Looking for a very good set of wheel trims though. Jazz or similar.

Re: Door cards

Thanks Steve.

Need to replace my passenger side rear, and didn't know if they were the same.

Re: Handbrake mot failure.

Thanks guys.

Car now has the 12 month ticket.

I'm away tomorrow until Saturday, so I'll get underneath when I get back, and see what they have done.

Re: Handbrake mot failure.

They have rung me to say that a new fitting kit is required, and that it may not be ready today. I've told them in no uncertain terms that it MUST be ready today without question, as I am not taking any more time off work.

Watch this space.

Re: Handbrake mot failure.

So adjusted the handbrake this morning to the point where I had smoke coming off the tyres under applying while on the move.

Took it in, and the tester wasn't there, but one of his guys was very surprised at the amount of resistance which I showed him, and said they would ring me later.

Re: Handbrake mot failure.

Pivots and manual adjusting wheels were lubricated, so all was fine. Cables checked tonight while daughter pulled handbrake on, and all seemed to be moving. 3 notches max on the lever, and even then it takes some pulling and I'm a strong bloke. I'll drive around in the morning before they get their ...

Re: Handbrake mot failure.

To say I am pissed off is an understatement.

Having tomorrow off, is going to cost me money in lost earnings, and I'm not convinced that they have done it right.

If they let me pull the handbrake on, and it passes, a report to VOSA will follow soon after.

Handbrake mot failure.

So I take my 406 for it's annual test on Saturday, and surprise surprise, the only thing it fails on, is the handbrake with virtually zero efficiency. So I set about stripping the rear end, and find that one of the shoes on each side has no material on it, so duly replaced and overhauled, including ...

Re: MoT fail

I have yet to find a 406 with a decent handbrake. When I bought mine I fitted new discs/drums, new shoes and pads and new cables and its still not much good. If I adjust the shoes immediately before the MOT it passes but doesn't last long. Peter I agree. My previous 406 was terrible, and today my l...
