2.2 petrol cylinder head?

Anyone have or know where i could get hold of a cylinder head for a 2.2 16v petrol engine? One with bent valves would even be ok?

Re: 2.2 16v sri snapped timing belt!

Hmm, judging by the numbers of these engines fitted to stuff its perhaps going to be a bit of fun finding bits at the right price!

Re: ES9J4 V6 Top End Rattle

Did the timing belt on my uncles v6 last year and although it looks a bit daunting its not a bad job. The tensioner supplied now will be different to the original one, much easier to set, just a case of lining up two marks, lock it, turn engine over a few times with crank bolt then re check marks on...

Re: 2.2 16v sri snapped timing belt!

It does look very similar to the 2 litre but are a few differences, seems to be an oil feed thats not on 2 litre and 2.2 has variable valve timing and not sure whether 2 litre has. Four bent valves so would have been easy fix if head not ruined! Its dawning on me 2.2 not so common, still no luck wit...

Re: 2.2 petrol sri spark plugs

If you take off the plastic engine cover you'll find the coil pack between the camshaft covers. It has what look like wax squares on the top and runs the whole length of the engine, should make sense when you see it! Its held on by eight mm bolts, undo these and the multi plug at the right hand end ...

Re: 2.2 16v sri snapped timing belt!

Hi all, quick update, made a start stripping the engine and found that its been run low on oil and the inlet camshaft had seized hence the snapped belt! unfortunately its wrecked the camshaft and the head where it sits. so now left with the choice of finding another head and hope bottom of engine ok...

Re: 2.2 16v sri snapped timing belt!

Thanks all for your advice, car is getting dropped off today so hopefully get some time to start work on it this week.
Think easiest route may be to find a replacement head if i can find one! Don't seem to be too many of these engies about!

2.2 16v sri snapped timing belt!

Hi all new to the forum although not to 406's, last one being a D9 v6 which i loved! I have recently bought a 2.2 sri, petrol version with a snapped timing belt, don't have any knowledge on these engines apart from they don't seem too common, been trying to source parts to fix it! Not stripped to in...
