Re: Pugfest 2012
Pugfest is a superb day. I have now been four times with my 205 and yes there are alot of 205's there. However the last few shows has seen a welcome influx of lots of other models including 205,206,207,106,107,304,306,405,406,407,even the group of classic Talbots made a show. In the main its a Pug o...

Re: PAS Pump
Stripping it down on wednesday, so by the sounds of it its either Belt, Tensioner, PAS Pump, or alternator!
Can you get a tension roller as opposed to the full tensioner? It does sound like a bearing type noise so this is my suspision.

PAS Pump
Got a horrible bearing type noise emiting from the area of the PAS pump. Assuming it is that, is there any differance between models, or are they all the same?

Re: Just bought one - 2.0 Hdi SE

Flummaxed for a little while but then realised that at some point in the cars life the windscreen has been replaced. Now the original way the mirror fitting was stuck to the windscreen was it was bonded using a...

Re: Noisy tappet
I know this sounds daft but check you're spark plugs are tight. Happens quite reularly, and the noise of a loose plug sounds very tappety.

Engine rebuild, replacement , or is this perfectly normal ?
Well I have now owned and ran my 2001 1.8 Rapier for some 4 months now and done 6000 mile in that time. When I first bought it I gave it a service using Castrol 10W40 Semi Synth oil. I also replaced rocker cover gaskets, and carried out a sniff test just for a sanity check. The car is now on 106,000...

Re: Few Niggles
Managed to get a service carried out today and got a chance to have a look see where oil was coming from. Both rocker gaskets seemed fine but had the parts so changed them regardless. Quite a bit of oil around the filler cap area and the channel between the cam holders where the coil pack sits. Am n...
