FS: 1999 406 D9 2.0 HDi GLX 90bhp, 139,000 Miles

Hello, in the last few months the list of niggling faults on my 406 has crept up and it's got to the point where i'm getting bored with it and don't have time to hunt around scrap yards for the bits i need to fix them. As in title, car is a 1999 D9 (V registration) in navy blue with MOT until July 2...

Needed ASAP: Drivers Electric windows control panel

Hello all, wondering if someone can help me out. I'm still running my V reg HDi 90, up to 138K now, came out to start it on Tuesday and it was dead, changed battery and it's back to life but the drivers window wouldn't move, it'd been playing up a bit so suspect something shorted and drained the bat...

Re: Radio buttons dying / Effects of aftermarket radio

Hey, I'm talking to myself. Anyway, rethought plan and got an old IDE cable and used three wires soldered on to connect from pad to pad, bypassing the cut traces. Power button and band button now work fine again, so now have a fully working radio again. Even got an aerial for a £1 from a scrappy aft...

Re: Radio buttons dying / Effects of aftermarket radio

Okay, quick update, i've had a look and re-soldered some dry joints, however there is a fracture in the PCB resulting in the power button and "radio/band" buttons not working. I've shorted the pins to get the radio on now, but need to sort this properly. I will try some superglue to fix the board an...

Re: Wanted 406 saloon

Hello, I am currently looking at other cars and was going to try and trade my 406 in towards an Alfa 156 but all the ones I want are private sales. Mine is a 1999 V Peugeot 406 HDi 90 GLX in Dark Blue with 108,000 miles on the clock. It is a later-style (D9?) model with the mesh grille. Has 15" allo...

Hello, where abouts are you located?

It would be useful to name and shame the garage if this is allowed, but equally it would be useful
to name the good diesel specialist who sorted this out for you!

Thanks,
Paul

Hello again, I'm not complaining about price, i've budgeted a certain amount and sourced the best parts prices myself, this includes timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, aux belt, bottom pulley, water pump, antifreeze, water. I'm looking for a recommendation for a good mechanic who won't charge the...

I am new to the board and wondering if anyone can recommend a good mechanic in Lancashire? Just got a 99V 2.0HDi GLX 90 (Navy Blue) and need the timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, bottom pulley, aux belt etc.

Thanks,
Paul
