Re: heater matrix replacement

Just broke for the 2nd time. Again wet feet for the passenger and foggy windows at the right side. 2nd time around, the repair went a lot quicker, was able to do it in 2,5 hours. New matrix is only €35, would be nice if they would make it a bit more expensive but of good quality.

Re: problems with power & braking 0n my 110hp

I'de a leaking brake servo which caused similair problems. My dealer had never seen this before. Lack of power is especially at low revs (less dan 1800) and engine is producing a lot of black smoke at those low revs. If vacuum can leak away, the waste gate of the turbo stays open, lack of air into t...

Re: no boost 2.0 HDI 90HP

The MAP sensor is on position 14 in the drawing send by Dogslife. It is measuring the airflow going into the engine and the amount of injected diesel fuel can be corrected by this measurement. These senors have a limited lifetime, I'de to replace mine as well.

Re: cold start problems on my HDi

It's also the engine speed during starting which can give problems with a HDI. It needs to be above a certain speed or the computer will not start to inject. Therefore it is important to have a good battery and starter motor, otherwise the engine speed will be to low and will not start.

Re: cold start problems on my HDi

Replacing or removing an injector isn't that dangerous, as long as you know what you are doing. I would never advise an unexperienced person to fiddle around the car, but almost anyone can learn. If you're not sure about your knowledge, try to get the help from a more experienced person.

Re: cold start problems on my HDi

A new copper washer you can buy at the Peugeot dealer of autopart shop. If you change over the pump, air will get into the system. When you have installed the new pump during starting the engine, the air will be pushed out, starting will take longer therefore (15-20 sec).

Re: cold start problems on my HDi

Bleeding the fuel system is not necessary, it will bleed itself during cranking, it just takes longer to start. Be careful if you renew the washer under your injector. The old one can stay behind in the injector hole and can be difficult to remove. Also the tigthening torque of the injector clamp bo...

Re: cold start problems on my HDi

That black wax could indicate a leaking injector washer (copper washer between injector and cylinder head). Is the black wax around one of the injectors? This black wax are residues coming out of the cylinder, I saw this more than once. It is very hard to find the root cause for a bad starting HDI e...

Re: Fuel pressure regulator

It looks as if the fuel pressure isn't high enough. If you connect it to the P2000, you can read the fuel pressure while starting and running. If this pressure is ok (which I don't believe), the fault isn't in the fuel system. If the pressure is not high enough, it also can be following issues - I h...

Re: Heaters not working!! Please help it's cold!!

It could be the control unit for the fan. In my car (with ECC), there is a black box at the passenger side (is a LHD, migth be the other side for RHD), there where the feet normaly are, just next to the center console, bolted to the bulkhead. I believe it has a green connector, but I'm not sure abou...

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?

My 110 hp HDI Estate has done 191 k mls, but had serious engine problems: blown cylinder head gasket @ 150 k, cracked cylinder head @ 170 k, new injectors amd HP pump @ 185 k and now a leaking heater matrix (looking forwad to replace it....). I'm not very satisfied with the reliability of this car.
