Got hold of a new ignition switch. Tested it but nothing.

Hia guys, just a little update on how it's going :) Looks like i'm getting some where now on this project i hope. Talked to a friend who's neighbor has a 406 which is going to the breaker's, he is going to talk to him and maybe i can get a new ignition switch :lol: Fingers crossed! So maybe i finall...

But i am wondering, do i have to change the BARREL itself where i put the key in, or the plastic piece behind it, where the cables go in?

I'll have another look, maybe i can get the switch open, and have a look.
Think i have the early model lock, because i can take out the ignition barrel itself.
Hopefully you can confirm this for me

Okey, I just had the ignition switch off. And the barrel itself seems to work fine. The switch behind it (The white plastic one) where all the cables come in looked fine too, but i couldn't get it open so i don't know how the switch itself inside it looks. Am i correctly assuming that this is where ...

I dont know wich one i have unfortunately :/ It's a 1998 2.0 Turbo, might be the inbetween model, but unsure about the ignition switch. If i PM you my chassis number can you find it out? :) I hope that if i can remove the ingition switch and that i then can see if it is the problem, and mabey fix it...

Hi, checked the fuse, and replaced it. Didn't help. Have had a look under the steering wheel, and tried wiggeling on the cables, still nothing. I had the panel out, and the cable has not fallen out. So i think the problem lies with the ignition barrel. What can i do with this? Is it someway i can ch...
