got it sorted - didn't realise bulb was on end of white lever. Many thanks to all responses - great forum

You need to twist the white extension stalk, then you can pull the bulb holder out of the headlight. DO NOT just keep pulling at it, or you'll break the stalk and you'll need to pull the headlight to get access. Like me :( just to confirm I need to access to headlight bulb to change the sidelight b...

I have a 1999 peugot 406 LXDT and need to replace front driver sidelight bulb. I can twist cover but although loose can't seem to get holder out.
any advice gratefully received
