Badly behaved 406 D9 - Brake Fluid Warning...
Hi all long time since I've posted here and could do with some advice. I have a 1.8 petrol 406 D9 saloon pulling the handbrake up gives the warning message "BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW". Checked the rear shoes, had the handbrake readjusted and changed the front pads - plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Hav...

A myriad of electrical weirdness
Hi I was wondering if people could help, I bought a V plate 1.8 saloon in March and it had one fault with the electrics, it's now developed a couple of others which are just flat out annoying. Here they are: - No alarm for leaving the lights on (was there when I got the car) - No indicator noise (as...

My 406's aircon sounds pretty damn rattly, works fine and all but never heard a car with such a noisy system, is this normal?

outside temperature tomfoolery
Is there a way of cleaning the sensor for outside air temperature? It most certainly wasn't 41 degrees Celsius at 3am last Saturday in Dieppe and it's been saying it's all sorts of odd temperatures. Advice appreciated!

Light adjustment for driving abroad
Quick question with a simple answer (probably a no)
Is there any quick way of setting the headlights for driving on the right? I'm off to France this week and would like to avoid using stick on beam deflectors

Re: Indicators
cheers - I assume (from previous experience of Vauxhall-Opel and VAG cars) that it'll be a couple of quid and easy to do?
edit - not so much a couple of quid. I'll ring the local scrappies.

Re: Indicators
Does anyone know where the pre-Com2000 'click' comes from - is it a little speaker or something the OP can check easily? my 2000 estate does the sound, i don't wanna push my knowledge about it but, i guess the sound is produced from the speaker that does the bleeps if you miss the key plugged in on...

Bird poo!!
Hi all as mentioned in my other post I've not long had my 406 - long story short I have never known a car like it in all my years for attracting bird poo. Every day it gets deposits, has anyone else had the same problem?! D9 406 Saloon, Moroccan red I think - I clayed it the other week so it looked ...
