Re: What's in your tool box?
Everything it came with for now as I've just recently invested in a Halfords Advanced 150 piece socket set, I'm so glad I did, I've not had a decent tool set for working on a car in ages and it's made all the recent work on the car a breeze! No doubt soon I'll leave a spanner or Allen key laying aro...

Re: Changing Laptop Keyboard
A bit of internet searching suggests that this is the keyboard you want: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=V072078BK1+ But I would confirm that by taking the old one out and looking for a matching part number. Laptop keyboards are blummin fiddly though so exercise ca...

Re: WTB - 406 Bosch model ECU (1998)
AHA, Yes mine runs on for a bit, I just tell people it has a turbo timer! LOL. OK, I will keep looking. There are very few early 406TD's in australia so hoping to get the part from UK??? Cheers. In case HimBigChief's ECU is the wrong one, there's one on eBay that I've already confirmed with the sel...

Re: WTB - 406 Bosch model ECU (1998)
I've been discussing this at length with mark, as we've both had the 3k problem. It seems there are three factors which affect if the ECU is the right one: 1. Manufacture date (should be 1996 ) 2. Large number at the bottom (should be 96 274 538 80 ) 3. The letter on the end of the line beginning DC...

The 'original' Nissan Micra I've had two of them, one of which was a camper van: http://www.alanarnold.co.uk/micra/images/jae_2005/jae04.JPG (I probably see more than most as I'm a Site Admin of the Micra Sports Club! ;) The Nissan Bluebird! what a masterpiece that was :? I'm not actually sure on my overall opinion on the situation, however what does annoy me is everyone else sticking their oars in, what concern of some random uni student is it? This is how the riots got started...

Re: 2.1 TD cutting out after driving for about 5 mins
Quick update: I think it's air getting into the fuel system. There's a larger leak than I thought on injector 1 and when i squeezed the priming bulb I could hear air coming out of what I can only imagine due to the location was the bottom of the fuel filter housing, possibly the thing on the left (l...

Re: Things you hate
One that used to get me when I lived in Fife was: You would be on an open road, fairly empty in your direction, making good progress. Then, someone in an old Metro or something would pull on out right in front of you, forcing you to slow down, despite the road behind you being clear, and proceed at...

I had a look at it after my 1 hour drive to work and it was fine, and also firm, but I didn't get a chance to check it when it cut out (I probably should have done)steve_earwig wrote:It just occurred to me that it should be obvious - is your manual fuel primer bulb thing trying to turn itself inside out?

2.1 TD cutting out after driving for about 5 mins
Hi all, Bit of an odd one here, I've had the 406 running on veg now for a good couple of months with no problems, I change the fuel filter regularly (last done about 300 miles ago) but I ran into a very strange problem today. It took quite a bit longer to start than usual (needed 3 rounds of the glo...
