Re: 2.1td lucas to bosch pump swap?

Thanks 750frog, That post of mine is over 2 years old now, but I've been keeping an eye on your progress back home in your Aussie Frogs thread. In addition to that Citroen pump I have sitting in the UK, I've also got a 405 pump on the shelf at home. All just for insurance, but I'll probably never n...

AHA,

Yes mine runs on for a bit, I just tell people it has a turbo timer! LOL.

OK, I will keep looking. There are very few early 406TD's in australia so hoping to get the part from UK???

Cheers.

Re: 2.1td lucas to bosch pump swap?

Thanks for all the help. The 406 STDT didn't have an immobilizer keypad in Australia, although I think that it does detect the correct igntion key. So it could well be that the pump I have pictured above will work. You see the problem is that 405 pumps are now scarce in Australia and the Xantia pum...

Re: 2.1td lucas to bosch pump swap?

OK, So I bought a reco pump listed for a citroen with the 2.1TD motor (XM) in it from dieseljones.co.uk. Postage and part was 700 pounds! Put it on and timed it up. The car went like a bag o shyte! But.... advanced the timing a bit and it goes GREAT! Gonna advance it some more when I get the chance ...

WTB - 406 Bosch model ECU (1998)

Hi all,

I have recently done the bosch/Lucas conversion on my 1998 406SRDT and the tacho cuts out at 3000 rpm. Looking to get a second hand ECU so the tacho works all the time.

Postage to Sydney Australia with the price.

Cheers, Tim.

Re: 2.1td lucas to bosch pump swap?

hi folks! Bosch pump, lines and injectors are on, but car doesn't want to start :( The mechanic I've got to do it says he's timed the pump up, but it looks like all he's done is line up the holes in the sprockets and bolt them down so everything was bolted down at TDC, but there's more to it than t...

SRDT bosch conversion - HELP PLEASE!

Hi all, I have got the pump from a 1.9 srdt 405 in the car, I have bled up to the injectors however it will not fire. I am wondering if i have the pipes to the injectors on wrong? I have used the same pattern as the 405 motor would use as the pipes from the old lucas pump will not fit. I assume that...

Re: 406 D8 2.1 TD - Fuel Issues....

OK, So i took it to an efi place that fault checked the computer. came up with the fuel needle sensor and the pump timing sensor. Cleared the faults, went for a drive till it failed again. Checked the faults and the pump advance sensor was the culprit. A replacement pump in Australia is $3000!!! (bo...

Re: 406 D8 2.1 TD - Fuel Issues....

Sweet, After looking through the forum for about 4 hours i came to a similar conclusion. Thanks so much people. I have to fix the car or I will give it back to the old owner and get my money back... but the car is in such good condition that I really want to keep it.

Cheers, :cheesy:
