Yes it's the 110 or 111 on my car checker :) to sound novice don't know what that is!

It's made it the first part so only the return journey to do!

Thank you for the replies! It is a hissing noise but not constant it's a quick sound every couple of seconds. My friend did tighten down the bolt with a 13mm socket last night, it didn't make much difference I'll try the Allen keys later aswell. I'll do my journey then get it replaced Monday. If I n...

Good morning, So last night I noticed that in the last week my number four fuel injector on my 2.0 hdi (1999) has started ever so slightly leaking. The bad part for me is this was gone midnight last night and I am working 08.00-15.00 today then meant to driving 400miles to Leeds from the SouthWest. ...

16 Inch Wheels

I have a 1999 406 diesel 2.0 HDI (D9 I believe) I really don't like the look of the steels that I have, so am looking at Peugeot alloys. As standard my car has 15's but I have been offered a set of 16's from a 206 with tyres. Would these just drop straight on to my car with no need for any adjustmen...

with the old alternator in the voltage would drop to 12volts now with the new one in it does 13 - 14 volts

Thanks for the replies, in the end bit the bullet and got a new alternator from a breakers, however never diagnosed my old one as they did a part ex deal! new one and its been a week fine!

Got my friends multi meter out and from the alternator and across the battery only 12volts when the car idles and revs stay below 1000, then rev the engine and 14volts appear!

Is it new alternator time then?

Battery Charge Fault

Ive asked this in the electrical section but posted it on a historic thread, but thought a new post was needed to help me. My V reg 406 2.0 HDi has a fault thats become apparent over the last few days that when ever the revs drop below 1000 the battery light comes on and a error message is displayed...

The faults become more apparent today, the battery light now comes on when the engine drops below 1000revs whether idle or when driving, a message then comes up saying battery charge fault. Also conincidently the drivers side dipped bulb has gone too, but prob not related! Im going to get a multimet...

Sorry to bring back an old post, however I was using the search function and a problem I am having is very similar to this. over the weekend when I've been driving my 406 2.0 HDI V reg Ive been hearing a audible beep, it is exactly the same as the warning beep for if fuel levels low or handbrake lef...

Thanks for your help I swapped the cables and now no more turning aux back on from the sub menus or re tuning radio stations!

No I haven't changed the wires around, do you mean the wires that run from the back of the headunit?
