For Spares or Repair 406 D9 GLX 2.0 HDi 90 (1999)
Hi All My indigo blue 406 just failed its MOT and I'm not paying the bill. It failed on numerous ancillary points including: Corrosion on brake lines Corrosion under the sills where seatbelts are anchored There's a small leak in the fuel system (at the fuel filter) Small leak in the power steering s...

Thank you again earwig
Final question while I red and re-read the '3 minute rule' link - what's a DIAG?

Re: Changing the battery
Hello :cheesy: The BSI is the car's central computer, located over the fuse panel over your right knee. Lots of cars have them, and have problems with them. On the 406 only D9s (series 2, redesign, facelift etc.) have them, the big change happened in 1999 but no D8 HDi had the 90bhp engine so you d...

Re: Changing the battery
Hi Guys Sorry to revive on old thread but there are a couple of things I wanted to get cleared up before I attempt this on my 406. Firstly, what is BSI and how do I know if my 1999 406 2.0 HDI 90 has it? I've never changed a bettery before, how do I know which battery to get? Where/what is the radio...

Re: Assorted 406 Coupe Interior Parts For Sale
Hi Highlander
For 2 handles, £20?
Don't know how much they would be to post but I would imagine maybe a couple of pounds. I'd bubble wrap them for good measure.

Re: Imminent Clutch Failure? HDi 90
Nope the sound definitely isn't the turbo. I hear it when stationary and is dependant on how quickly i depress the clutch pedal. Faster depression makes the noise, doing it slowly does not. I know the hiss of the turbo and this is much different.

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Just Passed 98k. Just out of interest, what do people make of the 406's reliability? I had a 306 XLDT before this and it was just bullet proof. I moved to the 406 for something a bit bigger, as I'm 6ft 5" and the 306 was a bit tight (although managable) and expected the same level of reliability but...

Imminent Clutch Failure? HDi 90
Hi I have noticed over the last year that the clutch has been slipping every now and again at higher revs. Only happens occasionally though, never consistently at any particular revs. Over the last week however, I think something a little more drastic has occurred. The clutch pedal has suddenly beco...
