Re: How many forum users still actually drive a 406

I have mine.. And will have it for the rest of it's life. Mine has only done 143.000 km's. The previous owner drove the car untill the drivebelt snapped, so I got it for free.. Rebuilt the engine, changed all the broken bushes, brakes, clutch etc. etc. spent way too much money on it all in all :P Bu...

Peugeot 406 Bonnet + front grille (MOGE) china blue wanted!

Hi guys.. A few weeks ago some person that never should be allowed to drive a rather large truck/lorry backed over my car... crushing my bonnet, headlights and front grille.. And then proceeded to drive away as if nothing happened :P Luckily for me though, I found his truck a few days later with lot...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

Hahaha... I COULD END UP with a none runner? It already IS a non runner... as it's standing more still than moving these days... I took it to my closest NON peugeot-garage, which said they'd have a new sensor fitted in 1 hour. I have NO idea if that even fixes the problem.. but I'm also figuring tha...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

Hmm... Is it normal for the TDC to practically WELD itself to the bellhousing? I tried taking it off last night and it just won't budge at all.. broke the "ear" off it (where the screwhole is) aswell.. thing is still stuck in place. Any tips on getting this thing off? I don't want to break it off le...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

Quick question... Should the car "prime" every time try to start? I mean, should you be able to hear fuel being pumped into the fuelrail or something? And what exactly is it that determines when the car is supposed to be letting fuel into the engine? I started the car and pulled the TDC to check if ...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

Some new tests have been performed.. Checked compression.. Was 13-14-14-15. Which should be okay enough.. There's lots of pressure in the fuel-lines going to the rail.. The car starts with start-gas??? Which would indicate a petrol problem? What in sweet jesus's name could this be? The fuel-pressure...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

I had the car in for a checkup at my local Peugeot STEALER.. They read out faultcodes(or atleast tried, There were NONE). And read out the live parameteres (which looked perfectly fine according to them).. - So..This leaves me with 70£ less money.. I've tried taking the minus lead off the battery, t...

Re: Starter motor FIXED !!! (with a warning)

I have issues with my 406 :| When I try to start it, it will just turn around, but not actually fire up the engine. Will this be a starter fault? Or does the tricks in this thread only apply when you get the "click" sound only from the starter? I can sit there trying to start my car for 10 minutes.....

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

I'll have it checked out as soon as possible...

Would me driving it for a bit hurt the engine?
Could this have damaged the engine I mean? Driving around with the cambelt\timingbelt one tooth off it's "mark"?

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

I don't think the waterleak is causing the problems. The battery isn't drained either. The engine turns and the starter is doing it's thing..but there seem to be no spark at times.. I have NO idea what could cause the coilpack\plugs to not give a spark intermittently.. It's SERIOUSLY starting to ann...

Re: Weird issues on my 406 - start-problems, remote acting s

The guy that helped me last time checked that the grounding was okay aswell.. Checked for continuity and everything.
I have had water in my spare-wheel well.. I've dried it out twice since I got it back in November.

I'm just really puzzled about all this whole start-problem :|
