Re: has an injector started to leak?

thanks for the reply, the problem was very simple just an injector had become loose, the hardest bit was getting a 7mm allen key Halfords didn't have one but b+q did.
cheers steve.

Re: lift pump problems?

thanks for all the reply, the thing wouldn't start so I gave the tank a few bangs as advised by welly and for the last four days the car has started everytime, I've also sprayed some wd40 onto the connectors on the lift pump, so at the moment everything is ok.

Re: 2.2Hdi fuel consumption

mine averaged 38.2 mpg over about 3000 miles at an average speed of 22mph, which is mostly town driving, at a steady 60mph unloaded I get about 48mpg, more would be good but compared to my old petrol mondeo i'm happy with this, before I had the remap and defap I was only getting 1mpg better.

Re: Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Diesel Oil 5L

thanks for the replies, i'll be going with opie oils which recommends 5w40 synthetic, but a lot of hdi drivers use 10w40 part synthetic so I don't know what one to use some i'm still not 100% sorted, like the sound of the discount code though.

Re: Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Diesel Oil 5L

just had a look and they recommend four oils and with the filters there good prices, I read somewhere before that castrol edge is the best oil for the hdi but it is expensive, I suppose fuchs £32.40 or mobil £37.30 for 6 litres with the filter are good oils?

Re: Halfords 5W/40 Fully Synthetic Diesel Oil 5L

the opie oils are cheap lozz but is it any good for a remapped 2.2, I had a turbo go last year and don't want to risk the same thing happening again.

Re: high oil temp

thanks for the replies, because it hasn't got into the red zone I suppose there is nothing to worry about because it does come down when the road flattens out, like grasmere59 says if the gauge wasn't there i'll be none the wiser, none of my previous cars have had an oil temp gauge and the thought o...

high oil temp

hi since i've had my defap and remap i've noticed that the oil temp gets much higher when engines under load, going over the servern bridge on the weekend the oil temp was quickly climbing and peaked at about 120c ( i've worked out that the line before 140c is about 126c) before we hit the middle an...

Re: defap and 180, the way to go.

I haven't got the self control to get the same mpg, have just had a week in north wales and coming back home through the mountains I just had to put my foot down on every climb and feel it pull, its not wise to look at the current mpg when doing this though, the thing is after plenty of anti polluti...

defap and 180, the way to go.

hi, after problems with limp mode every time I put my foot down and having to reset with pp2000 because of differential pressure problems I finally went for the defap as recommended by dogslife, a kind chap on the coupe forum done the honours and also said I should go for the 180 remap, I was happy ...
