Re: heater matrix
I've done this before. Proper way is a dash out job. But it should also be possible to do it just by removing the passenger side floor console side panel, glovebox and the plastic housing behind the glovebox. This plastic housing is the one that causes headache, because it is secured to the dash by ...

Re: heater hot/cold mixer/blender flap?
The hot/cold air mixing flap motor is attached to the aircon housing on the right hand/driver's side. From the driver's side, look at the floor console, the side panel with a footwell vent is removable. But you'll probably need to remove the gear lever gaiter and surround to undo the screw that secu...

Re: Pressurised coolant pipes
The top hose is the one that connects to the thermostat housing? If so then it is normal. When the engine is cold the thermostat is closed so the top hose is flaccid. When the engine starts to get hot, the thermostat starts to open and the hose will get flooded with coolant, at the same time the who...

Re: Dismantle blower motor
It's possible to get it out. You've already seen the 3 rubber stoppers. Take a flat blade screwdriver, insert into one of the holes, pivot the screwdriver away from the centre of the blower so that the screwdriver's flat end pushes the rubber inwards towards the centre of the blower and upwards. Wor...

ESP = electronic stability program? I'd think ESP and traction control are the same thing.

Re: D8 Parts
hi Gary, I'm looking for some screws and fixings. I'll point to this post that I made at Chief's thread. That's floor console rear bolt and dash-to-aircond blower housing screw. Next are a bunch of screws that secures the wheel arch trim. It's number 71 in the picture below. ServiceBox says there ar...

Greetings!
Hi all, I've been using the family car which is a 2.0 16v D8.
It's been in the family since new, still going strong at the moment. I really like the design of the car, which still looks fresh to this day.

Re: HimBigChief's 406 Breaking - Definately this time!
Hi James, hope I'm not too late yet. I'm looking for small bits and pieces. Firstly is the bolt at the rear that holds the floor console down. I mean the floor console where the cig lighter and handbrake lever are located. It's number 70 in this picture. floorCon.jpg Second one is the screw which ho...
