Would definitely either try your hand at some other ones or get someone else to try to drive yours- see if it's the car or your perception. My 90 bhp 2.0 hdi 406 will still spin off the line if I'm in a hurry at a sneaky junction or something and can still overtake just as well as my 1.8 petrol focus.
