If I extrapolate from what Hi-Flow Heads told me this morning, it should in theory be possible for a 2.0i estate to put down about 210bhp if supercharged. Should be good for 0-60 in around 7 seconds?

Forgive me for being thick, but how can it matter if you do it alone, with a woman, with a sheep or in front of an episode of Star Trek?

406 V6 versus Turbo

I was wondering what the performance difference between the 3.0 V6 and 2.0 turbo is in real terms. In other words, I don't care what the list figures say. If the V6 is faster in real life, I want to know what cars it compares to, and how much quicker it is in a straight line than the turbo. I'm plan...

If there is one form of behaviour more repellent to me than any other, it's when people mistake their own opinions for facts that are carved in stone. I am a non-violent individual, but when people do that to me, I want to knock their teeth so far down their throats they'd need to stick a brush up t...

I'm sure Ascar used to quote £35 for a decat pipe. It's only a bit of pipe after all.

Good idea for a topic! Why I like my 406: 1) It's a 406. What better reason is there? 2) It gets a lot of attention. All I had to do was tint the back lights, add a couple of small badges, spray the bumpers and dashboard, and disconnect the sound damping on the dump valve. About £30 spent. 3) Its ha...

Sanding takes a few seconds really. Just buff the plastic (or metal, if you decide to paint body panels) gently with wet-and-dry paper -- making sure that the paper is VERY WET, so bring a bucket! -- until it's really smooth.

Actually, members of this forum are the only people who have mentioned the interior re-colouring in a negative way. Everyone else seems to like it. The standard interior of a 406 SRi is pretty nasty, and I think spraying the dash sort of "disguises" the horror of the trim by making it look like the ...

I've been quoted £200 to replace my damaged exhaust valves. That includes supplying and fitting all the parts plus other work! My car has just covered about 1200 miles in one month with no actual problems. It still idles roughly and usually struggles to start up in the morning (keeps turning over be...

Latest mods to my 406 - colour-coding

Some pics of Defiant showing its interior colour coding. The SRi interior is pretty frightful, but add some matching mats and spray some of the ugly black plastic parts on the dash, and it is surprising how well-sorted the car will look. Colour used is Peugeot Cherry Red Metallic (which is a body sp...

Special edition blue colour which IMO is the best colour in the range after black. It's halfway between an LX and an Executive with a single disc CD player and a half-leather interior if I remember rightly. The only reason I'd want to buy one is the colour!

I owned a black car for 3 years and come on, it is a lot easier to keep dark colours looking clean than light colours - unless your eyes are as sharp as a hawk's and you can see black dirt on black paint. As for a 136bhp and a 110bhp in the same price range, with the 136bhp model having better milea...
