Just wonder if 99 td 1.9 engine has any electrical sensor or connector on egr valve? If its removed would it trigger engine management? The only one way to clean a egr valve is to remove it n soak it in petrol and hand brush it till u can see its clean again, if uve done that before u will know how ...

Just won myself a 99 td on the bay as my veggie burner, will be collecting tomorrow, nice to meet u guys ill be doing a lot of reading here
