Re: Wipers blowing fuse
Yes it was the one from that French forum posted near the beginning. The spec sheet called it a voltage suppressor. Sorry didn't take any pictures, I was in a rush!

Re: Wipers blowing fuse
Finally got a chance to look at this tonight. Sure enough that voltage suppressor had split clean in two! Soldered a new one in and seems to be alright so far
Thanks for the help!!

Re: Wipers blowing fuse
Yes I've done that, but with that part number (6500Y1) you get units that have a different other number (the long one) to mine. For instance mine is a B5 that ends in 5480, and I've found a B2 that ends in 5180. So yes they have the same part number, but that doesn't convince me they're the same if ...

Re: Wipers blowing fuse
Ah right, thanks.
Here's another question, can I put any BSM B5 unit in, or does it have to be the exact same part number? I don't know what the difference between them is!

Re: Wipers blowing fuse
Oh wow that's great, thanks a lot! I'm no electronics whiz, any way I can test that diode? Should it have infinite resistance over it, and if not it's buggered?

Those fuse lists are different to mine, didn't realise the wiper was on two fuses. So I'm assuming fuse 17 in the engine bay covers the auto wipers. On slow and fast does it use both fuse 15 and 17? Because I'm pretty sure I tried those and they weren't working either.

Wipers blowing fuse
Hi guys, My 02 HDI coupe is blowing the wiper fuse every time you try them. Still blows with the motor disconnected, with the fuse removed PP2000 can see the wiper stalk working correctly so I don't think the problem is that side. I can't seem to find a wiring diagram for it, the haynes manual I hav...

Re: Driveshaft not clicking into gearbox?
Yes I have spun the wheels to check the bearings and they feel fine. I ran out of time this weekend but might be worth checking the driveshaft spinning like you said next weekend. Thanks for your suggestions!

Re: Driveshaft not clicking into gearbox?
Well it's torque setting is so tight I have no way of measuring it, but I've done it plenty of times in the past and haven't had a problem. I forgot to mention that I did the wheel bearing that side as well, so the vibration could well be that. I think I did overtighten the hub nut that time, but I ...

Re: Driveshaft not clicking into gearbox?
Could it be linked to when you changed the clutch? Or maybe an engine mount? Well I have wondered that, but I can't think of anything that would have caused it. The bottom mount looks fine and I did the top torsional mount recently in pursuit of this same issue. The clunking sounds to me to be from...

Re: Driveshaft not clicking into gearbox?
Thanks for that, gives me some peace of mind! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have made any difference, but I've noticed one of the wishbone rubbers is really knackered so hopefully that'll fix it!

Driveshaft not clicking into gearbox?
Hi guys, I'm changing my passengers side driveshaft as I've got an evil vibration and a clunking when changing gears and accelerating/decelerating, and I changed the other driveshaft a few weeks ago. Seems to be a fair amount of lateral play in the outer joint of the old shaft, but the inner shaft e...

Re: Lights playing up, new COM2000?
So I finally got hold of a new (well, second hand) sensor, but it doesn't work! Car doesn't even recognise it's plugged in. I assumed they would all be the same but it does have a different part number, does anyone know whether this would make a difference or is the sensor broken?

Re: Lights playing up, new COM2000?
Well the dealer has turned around and told me they don't sell them anymore...not sure I believe him after the trouble they had finding it, might just habe given up, but then the cars aren't getting any newer... I just assumed it was stuck to the windscreen with an adhesive pad or something. Sorry rw...
