I correct myself.. The colour codes are:
brown - constant 12v (when on ignition)
purple - switched 12v (when headlights are on)
green-yellow: earth

For the record: I bought a CTVPGX010 for my 12/2000 registered PUG406. Head unit is a Clarion PU-2184A. It was really plug and play, no need to remove the negative terminals nor the fuse and there was no need to enter the radio code! Working brilliant!
