The trouble is at 90k has it had a cambelt change? If it can't be proven that'll have to be done before the engine's been changed and with the labour cost to install it and fluids etc i would have thought it would have been much cheaper to replace the broken rockers, cam and aux belt on the existin...

Yeah thats what he said, but labour and parts cost to replace these would be the same if not more expensive than swapping the engine with another.steve_earwig wrote:Your engine *should* only need 8 new rockers, they're designed to break when the cam belt goes, saving the engine.

The engine itself is the same, some bits might need swapping over from yours, like the exhaust manifold, intake pipe and I think the radiator hoses are in a different place, but the bits are easy to swap over. Hows it going folks, My fan belt snapped last week taking the timing belt with it :( . The mechanic said it would be better off just replacing the engine so iv been on the hunt. Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome & advice. After alot of encouragement i finally got the drum off. Few springs and pins fell out in the process lol. Anyway, the piston is pishing brake fluid and the friction part of the shoes just fell out. Is it just a matter of replacing these and bleeding the ...

Hi everyone, i came out of work the other night to find my drivers side wheel locked as if the handbrake is still on. The handbrake feels very tight and will bearly go up a click. Iv tried the usual methods of WD40 & beating the drum but to no effect. I also tried removing the drum but its stuck sol...
