Thanks Busman. A/C not worked for about 18mths. I had it charged beginning of summer 2011 and it worked for two months so i expect it has a leak. Can i remove the A/C compressor and fit a smaller belt? Would i need new idler rollers or tensioner etc? My workshop manual does not show a diagram of layout without A/C.

I have had another look and cannot see any diesel running down from HP pump. Also the oil on bottom of A/C compressor does not smell of Diesel. I have an oil leak from behind the A/C compressor. The clear oil is running down between the brackets and down the front of the sump. Cooling fans now working normally so i suspect it was the cooling fan resister(grey one) that was faulty as i know this was open circuit. I did change the temp gauge sender unit as well so it could have been this as well.
