Rear end water leak

For years..this has eluded me!!!! 406 saloon,2004 I have always had gremlins with the electrical block in the drivers footwell and carpet soaking all the time so for years,I have been trying to trace a frontal leak. If I knew what type of FET it is thats screwed to the heatsink it would be a handy fix as those field electronic transistors are only about £1.50 from CPC

sorry to hi jack this thread,earth going into my resistor,no earth going to the blower
Took it apart and it has a field transistor inside which id say is the culprit

Did a few tests on mine tonight,very odd!!! Full power going through all the red wires to the fan,no issues there. Black wire to the fan,did a continuity test to an earth point on the body...nothing! took fan out,going grand with a 12 volt feed to it but,my earth aint earthing!!!! Did a temp repair,...

Im having the same issue on my 04 hdi but your fuse boxes are both different from mine. I havent got really indepth to testing mine but I do know,theres no power headed to my fan. My plan is,live feed from the battery to a relay and using the radios live wire to activate the relay and make the fan w...

16 way black apparently, not sure about the red bit but that's probably not important. Did you do this the same time you did the brake switch or was it ok for a while? Yip,thats the one..so the ABS works via that plug then? Yes,when i was fixing the switch,i looked at that plug as it had gave issue...

is the connector in the footwell for the abs a black one with a red slider which seperates it and maybe 12 wires? I measured each sensor with the ohm meter where they plug in( 2 near diesel tank,2 on strut tops) and i dont have cruise control. Wondering if maybe the system detects a voltage drop on ...

This cars at some stupid sh*t!
Yip,drove the car still the same and..wait for it..bleepers go off,stop light comes on!!
Obviously an electrical gremmie so trying the ECU reset tonight.
If that fails..diagnosticstime!

So,had the car at MOT(northren irish MOT) and brake lights....nada! so,inspector gave me the mot on condition i sort the brake lights. went home,took switch out(which is a fecker to get to),stripped it out,cleaned it up and refitted and brake lights are working but.... now the dam abs light is on!
