Yes there is just "--" on that readout that is just situated above the heater controls.

I have looked again and I guess it is fact that it doesn't have the trip computer....no biggy for me.
I guess it should show ext temp as there are no arrows on the window wiper stalk.

So I wonder if there is an easy way to fix it???

It is a 1.8 litre petrol.
I will take a photo of the dash and post it.

Thanks guys and sorry for delay due to health issues. The speedo issue turned out to be a mixture of earth in the footwell and speedohead unit problems. Renewed the earth by taking off and cleaning throughly and then replacing. :D Also managed to buy complete dash head unit on eBay for £25 so happy ...
