I have a 406 HDI 110 Executive Estate on x-reg.
No4 cylinder has no compression, do I strip down the engine to find the fault and repair, or replace engine, or scrap/sell for parts?
Any help/advise in this matter would be much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.

Re: HDI Compression tester
After my compression test, cylinders 1, 2, and 3 are fine at 290, all the same, but ZERO on 4 cylinder.
Last weekend, took off the top cover and checked, all looked ok at the top, however I could hear sucking and blowing, not a great deal but noticable.
So could this be valves or rings?

Re: HDI Compression tester
Thanks jasper5, sounds like a plan, so cover off and check rockers etc. what I mean is if I turn over the engine with dip stick out and place a finger over the dip stick entreance hole should I feel a pressure? if I do does that mean the rings/piston have gone, or if I do not something else! - not d...

Re: Engine Timing Tool Set
Thanks, but it not a timing belt problem. this weekend I will be doing a compression test as I beleive number four cyclinder is the problem, but when confirmed, I will need to take off the head, so locking all timing pullies is the better option, as I do not want to spend alot of time retiming, I ha...

Re: HDI Compression tester
Was let down with Tester, so I swopped over two injectors (Cyl 3 & 4) , again pulled off the connector and Cyl 3 stalled the car Cyl 4 run lumpy still (no effect).
So I can confirm it is not an injector.
Something else within the Cylinder?
Stem leaking?
Head?
Rings?
