Re: Misc bits - PP2000, Radio kit, CD changer, wheel nut

Hi Uberderv,

My apologies - the PP2000 has been sold - I'll update the post to reflect this now.

Everything else is still available, however. :)

Re: Puddle in the spare wheel well

I had a soaking boot with my D9, and it was coming in through the foam strip around the light clusters - a corner wasn't positioned right over the cluster and it left a gap, so I cleaned it all down and reattached it properly. I didn't have to use any sealant, I just made sure it and the surface it ...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

It's been a busy week :) Last week I called Kelly Bray Steering in Cornwall, who were very helpful and offered me one of their off-the-shelf steering racks they'd already reconditioned for the same price as what they charge for reconditioning your own. They knew exactly which racks would fit my 2003...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

I've just been out to replace the clamp holding the backbox on, as I had the wrong type and it wasn't the best fit. Initially I had a 69mm clamp, which held the silencer on, but didn't tighten up enough to seal the joint and keep the two parts rigidly held together, so there was a bit of a rattle to...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

Thanks Steve, It was a little bit tricky without a second pair of hands, I nearly knocked myself out when the old cat let go and fell down! The only part that vibrated at first was the backbox, which is quite close to the corner of the towbar, but this was easily overcome by loosening the midd...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

Thanks for the hints Lozz, I'll have a look and see if I can find any history on it. :) The exhaust replacement was a big success - she's much quieter and there's no fumes coming into the cabin now! It was a surprisingly easy job - only one clamp attached the remains of the original exhaust to the c...

Re: Wanted: Broken COM2000 Unit or levers

Hi Steve, Thanks for the quick reply mate, much appreciated. :) I think I just need the indicator arm and the radio remote control actually. I'll see if I can figure out what make my unit is and maybe we can figure out if yours will fit. Having just had a quick look on eBay, there are quite a lot of...

Wanted: Broken COM2000 Unit or levers

Hi guys :)

My COM2000 stalks have been chewed by a dog at some point , and as my stalks are otherwise fully working I was hoping to avoid the expense of a whole new unit.
Does anyone have a knackered COM2000 with otherwise decent-looking stalks they'd be willing to sell? :)

Cheers!

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

A picture is worth a 1000 words. Well, there's not that much to see, she has a couple of pretty dented doors which I want to sort out once I've finished with the servicing etc. :) Happily though it's just the doors, which can be swapped easily enough. Seems like a common colour, too :) https://lh5....

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

Cheers for the reminder! :) I think we have a cure :D Time will tell if it sticks, but when the ignition went on, the lights went off, and there was no Airbag Fault beep on the screen! I then tried the passenger airbag override switch and it worked perfectly - passenger airbag light came on, reminde...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

Just got back from the scrapyard with a seat adjustment switch and an airbag ECU! Plugged in the switch, nothing. Looked at fuse 16, blown! Replaced it, and now the seat moves! :D Only thing is that sliding it backward makes the seat go forwards and vice versa, so maybe there's a wiring difference. ...

Re: New 406 owner in Newcastle

Thanks guys :) @jon: That could be an option, soldering's no problem. Although I did see a 'leccy seated 406 with no memory in the scrapyard last time I went, so I might try and get that if it's not too much of a faff to separate from the seat. :) My airbag fault code is: "SAC_CENT_AUTOLIV_2: Perman...

New 406 owner in Newcastle

Hi there :) Picked up a 2003 HDi 90 S a few weeks ago as a cheap means of getting to college and back every day :) This is my first Peugeot. I'm actually really enjoying it as a car, comfy, economical, lots of electrical toys. I'm impressed by how cheap some of the parts are for it, which is great! ...
