The steering will loosen off by itself...had this a couple of times before. You don't have to loosen the steering rack as the bottom steering joint has a universal joint and will pivot. Just Phoned the garage he said all went back as it should etc, drive it over weekend and pop it in next week if don't loosen..
And put her up on ramp and av a look:)
To be fair did feel "looser"this morn enroute work so we will see....

Thanks guys, I may Ring garage later and see what they say..
Hopefully will sort itself with use ,it's not too bad anyway just different.
I'm off to work now...
Roll on the weekend, off to Wembley with me boy to watch the cup final..

Hopefully a win for the saints :))

Glad you got it sorted, many more years of service ahead 8) Let's hope so, I did notice steering a bit heavy and not self centering as much as before. I see u have done a post on this, what was it, did it go away?? It's not too bad but def different to how it was .. Apart from that it's like a new ...

Just got her back , what a difference...
Clutch biting point much nearer the bottom now not right at the top and pedal is much smoother..

So far so good :)))

I annually clean out the air doser, always seems to be a bit of oil around that area....

All the basic stuff I do my self, service , brakes etc, changed fanbelt and tensioner last year myself, had someone do the cambelt and waterpump though..

Let's hope for many more years... hope the turbo holds out as that's the only thing now that ain't been done :)))

Yeah I know it's a big job, not grumbling about the price, was a tough decision whether to call it a day and weigh her in but
Where else can I get such a reliable and economical car for the money??

Everything else has been done so hopefully get a few more years....

Hi welly It's been making the chirpy noise since I got her at 90k and as wasn't too bad I just left it. The noise now is very loud, and u can change the noise with pressing the pedal.. The clutch is not slipping though but at 178000 miles prob soon will be ... I will mention to the garage about the ...

Dmf failing

Hi all Well my old girl (2.0hdi estate 110 03 plate) 178,000 miles has just starting making weird and wonderful noises.. Sound changes with clutch pedal being depressed.. gotta be the dmf...maybe release bearing but whole lot will want changing... Best price I've been quoted was £750 and worse £1200...

UPDATE.... Mine was better after taking up slack on throttle cable but still didn't seem right. After reading many posts on here suggesting MAF sensor I decided id get one and give it a try--nothing ventured n all that.. hi My 03 plate 110 2.0hdi has been doing the same. I too cleaned the maf sensor, even unplugged it as some have suggested and it made no difference. As you said more noticeable going up hill also I noticed more in 4th, anyway yesterday I took off the air doser as was full of oil and gave it a good c...

key remote battery low?

Hi all

This morn after starting got the dreaded warning bong then on the mfd I saw key remote battery low--does this mean as it says??I only replaced it few months back--after dropping keys in sea?
Anyone else had this or know what it is?
Central locking all works on key fob etc?
