Nah not drop links they are new, and its not a knocking sound, it sounds like something is really loose and about to drop off.

Its outside right underneath but can't determined which side it is.It sounds a fairly big item if you know what I mean.Just thinking,could it be possible its the engine,as the mounts are not very good,and a fair bit of play in it.

Think I renewed the oil seal on the input shaft as I think it came with the kit.Will check the breather tomoz.

Yes mate driveshafts ok,it seems like its creeping out from the thin metal plate which is held on by 11mm bolts.

So I may not have a leak after all.yes gearbox was drained lozz as I had to change the clutch.

Filled it from the filler under the air filtering.Reason I ask is I have a leak after replacing my clutch and put 2 litres of fresh back in.Do you think its possible it could leak from somewhere due to overfilling.

Is it possible to overfill the gearbox with oil,and if so what will happen?

Well its definatley fresh gear oil,and car is a p reg d8 model,and also is cable operated clutch.

After changing the clutch on my 1.8 petrol,there seems to be a bit of a leak,and it seems to be coming from the half moon shaped tin plate on the bottom of the box on passenger side,the piece where there is a couple of 11mm bolts holding it.Any ideas folks.

That's the one lozz,just a coincidence that I can smell petrol now after messing with it.

Since tifhrning the little screw up in the centre of this valve to stop the ticking noise,I have a petrol smell when the window is down.its definitely coming from that area,so is it possible I have upset anything.
