Re: 1.9 Turbo bit the dust
dont bother with the turbo kit, it is most likely poor quality and you might have trouble torquing the turbo main shaft bearing etc. the engine runs on the oil as its a diesel and compression ignition, it will run off the oil in the sump and you wont be able to stop it and it will destroy your engin...

Re: Air doser / intercooler cleaning.
unless its smoking alot I wouldnt worry about the oil residue in the pipes and intercooler as this always happens on higher mileage cars, its partially from the air doser, breather system and a slight leak from the turbo oil seals. as already said if its blowing bubbles that suggests a leaking inter...

Re: ANOMALY ANTIPOLLUTION in my 406
with all common rail diesels, all manufacturers recommend replacing all fuel pipes, connections and components whenever any part of it is disconnected as any microscopic bit of dirt or dust can contaminate the system. This is good in theory but in reality isnt realistic cost and labour wise in most ...

Re: Correct Coolant Level...
that doest look like oil in the coolant or it would appear more creamy, looks like no or hardly any antifreeze has been used for a while and its corrosion from the inside of the engine block, radiator etc disconnect the bottom hose off the radiator allow all the old rusty coolant to drain and flush ...

Re: Topped up oil - now barely idles (ES9J4)
your right about the dipstick oil level the extra bit is just whats been pulled up the tube as you pulled it out, the oil level is somewhere in the middle which is fine.
I think its just coincidence that after you have topped up the oil it has started mis firing and then wouldnt start.

Re: Topped up oil - now barely idles (ES9J4)
as previously said dont rely on the dash display for oil levels, sounds like you have def overfilled, make sure you are checking the oil level on a level surface double check and post a piv on here if possible showing the dipped oil level on the dipstick.

Re: the proverbial Airbag
if mot testers are failing it for the light not coming on thats def incorrect standards............it is only abs thats checked for a sequence ie if the abs lamp doesnt come on or stays on to indicate a fault its a mot fail.

Re: Is Miss Pug dying?
it will just be the rocker cover gasket leaking and the engine oil always picks up a little fuel in the sump, when going around the pistons, etc.
change the rocker cover gaskets (make sure the surfaces are clean before fitting the new ones) and monitor it.

Re: Should i open bleed nipple whenpushing piston back on ca
I worked at a vauxhall main dealers in the early nineties and I remember the same scenario with the astra master cylinders...........changed loads!! I personally wouldnt bother undoing bleed nipples when pushing pistons back in callipers as its highly unlikely that it will damage the abs unit or mas...
