What about this thing?

Looks like the same thing but without the centre pipe.
Also, can the rubber hoses be taken off the centre pipe? I'm thinking of getting the AC version, but the hose to the rad is different.

Re: Rusted water pipe
There is an old car shop near me..who seems to keep hold of old/ new stock parts for older motors I will give them an ask if they've got one if you want.. Or I can forward there number too u .. That would be cool. Slapped a load of the Chemical Metal stuff from Halfrauds and it seems to be holding....

Re: Rusted water pipe
I am having no luck finding this part.
It seems to be a blanking pipe for the non-AC version, so could it simply be replaced with some 30mm steel pipe? Would it have to be attached to the bracket?

'97 2.0l petrol. It doesn't seem to have that small pipe off the centre though, but it's hard to see.

Rusted water pipe
Nearly lost my car last night. Turns out I have a hole in the metal pipe that goes between two rubber hoses from the engine to radiator (see attachment). Online searches are not being helpful and I need to know what this is called. Also, how easy is this to replace on your own, or will I have to tak...

Re: Syncromesh/gear selector/something causing reverse issue
The floor mat would often slide forward, and ended up curled back on itself, which when it was forward impeded the pedal. However I still think there is a cable or clutch issue as I'm sure I'm still pushing further down than I think I was before. I don't get any slipping (I think) so I think the clu...

Re: Syncromesh/gear selector/something causing reverse issue
Yup, R-reg. Clutch has always been heavy and/or the pedal heavy/creaky.steve_earwig wrote:This is a 1997 2-0 petrol? I think that'll be a cable clutch (correct me if I'm wrong) so no hydraulic issues.
It sounds rather like the clutch isn't disengaging, erm, sometimes

Syncromesh/gear selector/something causing reverse issues
In the last couple of months my gearbox has been acting up. Sometimes first and second are really hard to push into, and trying reverse often results in the classic grinding of gears. Bizarrely, it's almost completely random. I can easily pop it into first to go off, drive a few miles, up and down 3...

Re: Exhaust clamp size
I got the clamps and they fitted fine. Though now I have a new problem. I think as the old ones went, they dislodged to front exhaust section (it was a little loose when fitting the clamps). There's still a small blow where it attaches to the manifold. The connection just seems a little loose and th...

Exhaust clamp size
I've had a slight blow for a few weeks now, but nothing (in my inexperienced mind) too serious. Just a bit tractor like around 2k rpm. However, while popping to the shop today, the silencer to mid-section clamp finally gave up the ghost. It took the front to mid clamp with it (which I think was ruin...

Re: MoT fail, possibly a bad one.
It passed! Just! And now for an actual question rather than a pseudo-blog: Reconditioned calipers (I have a set of old ones to trade off against them) or new ones (which I doubt I can trade off on)? The brakes barely made it through and one of the roll bars at the front is going. Also, what would yo...

Re: MoT fail, possibly a bad one.
Aaaanndd... the rear brake compensator valve is knackered. New part is going to be about £95 plus VAT. It's from an aftermarket place so hopefully it's less than from Peugeot, but I'm not sure if I'm still being stiffed. 3-4 hours done on it so far, the part will arrive tomorrow morning for another ...

New headlight fitted, new bonnet attached, wheels swapped, handbrakes adjusted, all ready for the garage to do the brake pipes and the MoT today.

Re: MoT fail, possibly a bad one.
Well, numerous applications of WD40 and a few days to soak and it came off. I was expecting a complete mess inside and the inside of the disk/hub to be horrendous. I was pleasantly surprised to find that aside from some surface rust and dust everything was in good shape. Why it was so stubborn I'm n...
